The Counterintuitive Jesus

Tonight Brett made a statement in the sermon that said:
"The shepherd dying for the sheep is a very counterintuitive idea."
This really made me think...

It's true!  i would be sad if ten sheep were killed in an attempt to save the shepherd, but the human life would easily take priority over the animals' life if i had to choose.  It would be silly for a human to sacrifice his significant life for something so insignificant and less important.

This is exactly what God did, by all purposes, it would be much better for a human to suffer and die than God himself.  It would be silly for a God to sacrifice his significant life and purpose for something so menial and insignificant as a messed up human world(much like sheep), but he DID!!!

The good shepherd truly is a noble man and cause i appreciate dearly!

I love the counterintuitive post with the counter-counter-cultural picture of the Caucasian Jesus...
